JTG76 Joined: Mon, Jul 10, 2006 | Hello, all. I'm trying to create a wall-hosted component that is recessed into the wall. I added a wall opening, so at present when I place the component, it goes into the wall perfectly from the front. However, the wall opening goes through the entire wall. This ways that when I identify the component, the wall is cut all the way through, regardless of the component'southward depth (half dozen" in this particular case). Not good. Is there a ameliorate way to create a void for this component, or is at that place a way to control the depth of a wall opening and then it will cut the opening on the placement side of the wall and let me control the depth of it? Cheers a agglomeration! -Jason

If this is a not-hosted family unit, yous can create a face-based, paremetric family that cuts it's host with a variable size and depth. Information technology could be usable in many dissimilar applications.

Tin can you tell me more nigh this or straight me to a aid section folio with the information? Thank y'all so much! You are a huge assist. -Jason

JTG76 Joined: Monday, Jul x, 2006 | Okay, here is the trouble I take run into: I am trying to create a specialty equipment - wall hosted component and can create a void extrusion, but it will not cutting the default wall included in the family blazon. It shows up equally a yellowish transparent mass that is in the wall, but it does not cut the wall. So, how do I specify that the void should "cut the host"? I don't see any commands like this anywhere. Tin you tell me where I tin observe this? Cheers again for all the help. -Jason

I'm trying to create parameters for the void size, just Revit will not allow me snap to the edge of the void for some reason. -Jason
